Vicente Molina Foix Invisible Venice
Martín Rico Ortega. Río San Lorenzo with the Bell-tower of San Giorgio dei Greci, Venice, c. 1900
Martín Rico was a magnificent vedutista, but also applied his imagination to the city of Venice. This lecture will focus on his portrayal of that other, hidden city, with its side canals and humble houses, introducing quotations from writers who have depicted the least known and least touristic side of Venice.
