Monographic course: 'Anglada-Camarasa and the Aesthetic of the Modern'
Hermen Anglada-Camarasa was one of the most internationally renowned painters of his day. Between 1900 and 1955 his work was exhibited in numerous European cities and in North and South America. His popular recognition was, however, diminished by the all-powerful influence of the avant-gardes, which resulted in some artists being to some extent overlooked, among them Anglada-Camarasa who possessed a forward-looking vision but one devoid of the necessity to make a definitive break with the past.
