A selection of posters designed by Casas and Rusiñol complements the walk through the exhibition. These works show how both artists espoused the new genres that emerged with modernity, such as illustrations to advertise popular products like the Anís del Mono anisette and Codorníu sparkling wine. The painters’ output as poster designers is particularly noteworthy – especially that of Casas – as Modernism also found its way into graphic art through this genre and the novel, elegant and refined images they both created were widely circulated.
