Collaborators

The Museo Carmen Thyssen Málaga’s educational programme, which is based on the concept of a participative museum, is committed to close involvement with educational and cultural institutions, foundations and companies. The Museum’s efforts are focused on finding points of encounter that take the form of collaborative agreements aimed at mutual enrichment and which benefit our visitors.

With regard to collaborators, the City Council of Malaga has undoubtedly been the principal supporter and promoter of the Museum since its birth. Its disinterested support in the service of all residents of Malaga and visitors is based on the idea of establishing the city as a leading centre within the world of Mediterranean culture.

The Museum also counts on the collaboration of the Provincial Government of Malaga within its Educational Centres programme, bringing the Collection to those centres in the province of Malaga that have the least resources.

Within the context of collaboration with academic bodies, the Museum continues to work with the University of Malaga and UNIA in the creation of joint programmes aimed at mutual benefits. Lecture cycles and activities based on the Collection and on the temporary exhibitions will aim to encourage students to learn more about the museum experience.

Finally, members of the public, who can take part in all these educational activities simply by purchasing a ticket, are essential collaborators of this institution in the sense that the total of their financial contribution is reinvested, making it possible for us to undertake the free social programmes offered in the Thyssen JOINS IN programme.

Friends of the Museum

Through their financial contribution Friends help to finance the educational activities organised by the Museo Carmen Thyssen Málaga throughout the year. This programme is aimed at children, young people and adults and for many participants represents their first contact with art. We are therefore committed to ensuring that Friends are an active part of the institution, helping us to improve and grow every day.
