The Board of Trustees of the Fundación Palacio de Villalón

The Fundación Palacio de Villalón is a non-profit-making cultural foundation, the principal mission of which is the maintenance, conservation, promotion and public display of the Carmen Thyssen-Bornemisza Collection. These aims are undertaken through its management of the Museum that houses the collection and through associated cultural and social activities. The maintenance and conservation of the group of buildings consigned to the Museum by the City Council also forms part of that mission.

Constituted by the City Council of Malaga, the Foundation is governed by a Board of Trustees made up of a maximum of nine members, of whom two are designated by the lender of the Collection, one of them being Doña Carmen Thyssen-Bornemisza who is life-time President of the Board. The Mayor of Malaga is Vice-president. In addition, there are three members designated by the City Council as representatives of the Municipal political parties and three more chosen by a plenary session vote on the proposal of the Mayor.

The Secretary General of the City Council of Malaga assumes the position of the Secretary of the Board of Trustees.
